Upon Glenn's return from the Colorado mountains in the winter of 1995 he decided that he wanted to experience the Canadian Rockies using his favourite modes of transport, the kayak and the Canadian canoe.

So in the Spring of 1996 Glenn embarked upon a solo voyage of discovery to the lakes and mountains of British Columbia and Alberta.

 
The journey lasted three weeks and involved paddling many miles through some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet.

When the water ran out Glenn continued his journey using "The Snowmobile", his specially designed and built wheelchair for use under extreme conditions. This chair has accompanied Glenn on many expeditions and has undergone numerous rebuilds and modifications.

 
Luxury accommodation was provided by Glenn's familiar lightweight tent and with delicious meals being prepared on a trangia life could not have been sweeter!

One night was spent away from the tent when he had to take refuge in a small log cabin to avoid the attentions of a family of black bears.
